Welcome in Worship
Children are welcome in worship with their families every Sunday morning at 10:00 am. Held beforehand at 9:00 am, Kingdom Kids classes are for ages 3–5 and K–5th grade!

At St. Luke's, we affirm that children are a sacred gift from God. We promise to surround our children in a nurturing community that they may grow in their love of God and service to others.

On Sundays, we provide nursery care for infants and toddlers (through age 4 during the worship services, as needed). The nursery has age-appropriate toys and activities and is monitored by at least two loving workers who care for your children.

The church nursery is more than a babysitting service! We consider it a ministry opportunity where young children can be introduced to basic spiritual concepts and have God's love modeled to them through the nurture and care of the nursery workers.

Nursery workers are encouraged to express love to every child, teach Bible basics such as "God made you" and "Jesus loves you," be filled with praise to God, promote a secure and safe environment in God's church, and help babies and toddlers develop social and play skills. The young children are engaged with Bible storybooks and Christian music.

Ages 3 - 5th Grade

Children attend their Sunday morning class at 9:00 am while parents go to their own small group. Crafts, snacks, games and Bible storytime are all a part of the vibrant Rock Solid curriculum. During worship at 10:00 am, nursery care is available for the youngest children (through age 4), and a sermon activity is optional for school-aged children.

Kid Check-In

At St. Luke's, we use a convenient computer check-in process to ensure our children's safety and quality of care. If you're a visitor, you may create an account for your kids at the check-in station on Sunday morning or do it in advance at KidCheck.com. All parents can go online to update their accounts at any time.

10 Tips for Kids in Worship

Arrive in time to find a good place to sit. Sitting near the front will provide children with a better view of the Worship Center.

Review the bulletin with your child. Inform the child of baptisms, communion or anything special that might be happening.

Clue your child in regarding what will happen next in the service.

Help your child look up scripture and mark it so he or she can follow along when it is time.

Let your child help hold the Bible as the scripture is read. Even if they can't read, they will feel included.

Encourage your child to stand up when appropriate and to participate in the service along with the congregation. If they prefer to dance in the aisle during the music, let them!

Give your child money to drop in the offering plate and let them pass the plate to the next person. Talk about where this money goes.

If fidgeting, encourage your child to use the children's magnetic doodle pads (found in the Welcome Center) or to draw pictures of what they hear the minister say in his sermon or other aspects of worship.

Let your child greet the pastor each week after the service. Knowing the minister personally will add incentive for the child to pay better attention during the service.

Talk about the service with your child. Make sure your child knows what they think about the service is important to you.
