St. Luke’s offers a contemporary worship service fused with traditional elements, including hymns and responsive prayers. Above all else, we hope to provide an environment where you may engage in open worship with Jesus Christ and fellowship with the congregation.
WHAT TO EXPECT
A Welcoming Experience
St. Luke’s strives to be a welcoming community where everyone can connect. When you arrive for worship, you will be greeted by people who want you to feel at home. You’ll be invited to visit our Welcome Center for a cup of coffee and a breakfast pastry.
Worship lasts about an hour. The service will include church announcements, music, prayers, spoken responses, scriptures and a sermon.
Children in Worship
We provide a nursery for infants and toddlers up to age 5. Sunday school is available for children ages 6-12 whose parents would like for them to participate. For more information, see our Children’s Ministry page.
St. Luke’s has around 125 members, and you can usually expect between 70 and 100 attendees in worship.
What to Wear
St. Luke’s provides a relaxed, semi-casual atmosphere. Jeans and a nice top are acceptable, as are dresses, slacks, skirts or your “Sunday best.”
We serve communion regularly in gratitude of Christ’s sacrifice. When communion is included in the worship service, instructions will be provided as to how to receive the bread and cup. Communion is representative of the Lord’s table, and everyone is welcome to participate.
As a visible sign of God’s grace at work in our lives, we baptize infants and adults alike, claiming each as a child of God. Baptisms take place during the service at the request of families or individuals making a commitment of faith.
Word and Worship
St. Luke’s utilizes the New Revised Standard Version (NRSV) Bible, and relevant scriptures are read aloud as part of the worship service. Bibles are not provided in the sanctuary; you are welcome to bring your own, or follow along on the screens at the front of the sanctuary.
St. Luke’s provides inspirational, scripture-inspired worship music during our service. Our worship team combines contemporary Christian music with traditional hymns and, on occasion, non-religious music that contains relevant messages to the week’s theme.
